World War II veteran wants cards for 96th birthday
A World War II veteran has just one wish for his upcoming 96th birthday.
He wants to get birthday cards from anyone, and now, his daughter is trying to make that happen.
Duane Sherman doesn't like celebrating his birthday.
"All my friends are gone," he told KCAL.
That is, until his daughter went to Facebook and asked folks to send him some birthday cards.
"I wanted him to feel special on his birthday," Sue Morse said.
Sherman, who earned a Purple Heart for his service in the war, says he's now looking forward to his big day.
"It'll be heartwarming," he said.
