AND GIVE THE UPDATE ON WHERE WE ARE AT. I WANT TO TAKE A MINUTE TO REMIND OKLAHOMANS, COVID-19 IS STILL IN THE UNITED STATES. WE KNOW THAT. IT IS STILL IN OKLAHOMA. WE NEED TO TAKE THIS VIRUS VERY SERIOUSLY. WE NEED TO COME TOGETHER AND MAKE SURE EACH ONE OF US IS DOING THE BEST WE CAN TO SLOW THE SPREAD. I TALKED ALL THE TIME ABOUT THE NEW NORMAL BECAUSE WE KNOW IT IS HERE IN OKLAHOMA. IT IS NOT GOING AWAY. WE HAVE TO ADJUST OUR BEHAVIORS. WE HAVE TO BE AWARE OF OUR SURROUNDINGS, WASH OUR HANDS, CONTINUE TO GET TESTED. I’M PROUD OF OUR HEALTH CARE AUTHORITY, THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, ALL OF THE DIFFERENT HOSPITALS, OF HOW WE RAMPED UP OUR TESTING. I GET TESTED PERIODICALLY THROUGHOUT THIS WHOLE THING. I GOT TESTED YESTERDAY FOR COVID-19. AND THE RESULTS CAME BACK POSITIVE. I FEEL FINE. I FELT A LITTLE BIT ACHY YESTERDAY. I DID NOT HAVE A FEVER, BUT FELT ILL -- BUT FELT ACHY. MY TEST CAME BACK POSITIVE. I WANT TO BE TRANSPARENT WITH OKLAHOMANS. I WANT TO SHARE EVERY PIECE OF DATA AND LITTLE OKLAHOMANS KNOW EXACTLY WHERE WE ARE AT IN OUR STATE. I AM SO PROUD OF HOW FAR WE HAVE COME. I WILL BE TAKING PRECAUTIONS. I AM ISOLATED AWAY FROM MY FAMILY. I WILL BE WORKING FROM HOME UNTIL IT IS SAFE FOR ME TO GET BACK TO NORMAL. I WILL BE DOING A LOT MORE ZOOM CALLS. THE COMMISSIONER AND I HAVE WORKED WITH CONTACT TRACERS BASED ON WHEN MY SYMPTOMS DEVELOPED. I WOULD NOT OF BEEN CONTAGIOUS BEFORE SATURDAY. I DO NOT HAVE A TRADITIONAL SYMPTOMS OF COVID. THAT IS INTERESTING FOR US TO THINK ABOUT. THAT IS WHY A OH ENCOURAGE OKLAHOMANS TO GET TESTED -- THAT IS WHY I WANT TO ENCOURAGE OKLAHOMANS TO GET TESTED. I WANT TO USE MY STORY TO REMIND OKLAHOMANS, IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING WELL, WE WANT YOU TO GET TESTED. I WILL KEEP WORKING FROM HOME, ISOLATING MYSELF. AGAIN, I FEEL FINE REALLY. Oklahoma governor says he tested positive for coronavirus
Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt announced during a news conference Wednesday morning that he has tested positive for COVID-19.Stitt said the positive test result came back at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. He said he feels fine, but he had a little bit of fever and body aches. Stitt said he is now isolated at home, away from his family and he will continue working.Stitt’s wife and his children have tested negative, he said.Stitt said he believes he's the first governor in the nation to test positive for the virus. Oklahoma recorded 1,075 new cases Wednesday, which is the state's highest single-day total and the first daily report over 1,000 cases.
