The true story behind 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'

Tarantino's return to directing explores one of Hollywood's darkest nights

"Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" is being touted as director Quentin Tarantino's triumphant return to movie-making. Starring a whos-who of celebrity royalty, including Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Al Pacino and Margot Robbie, the movie is about TV star Rick Dalton (DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth (Pitt), struggling to stay relevant in an industry that is changing during the tail-end of the 1960s. That is, until, they meet Hollywood's latest "it" girl, Sharon Tate (Robbie). In a true Tarantino twist, however, the movie plays out on August 8, 1969 — the day of the Charles Manson murders. While the movie is fiction, it's based around real events. Watch the trailer for the film below: Watch Robbie talk about her role and the surprising twist ending: "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" is in theaters everywhere.
