3-year-old North Carolina girl sells lemonade to help buy supplies for mothers in need
A North Carolina girl decided she wanted to start a business selling lemonade.Ava Lewis charges 50 cents for a small cup and $1 for a large cup of lemonade, according to WTVD.When she thought about what she wanted to do with the money she earned, the 3-year-old had something special in mind."I want to help babies," she said.She planned to buy baby supplies, such as diapers and bottles, for children in need.(Related video: Two elementary school students are looking to give back to their school using their lemonade skills)According to her Facebook page, Ava's Lemonade, she met her goal!Lewis delivered the items to Good Samaritan Inn, which is operated by Durham Rescue Mission. The rescue mission helps house an average of 130 women and children a night."It just means the world to us to see a young person...that is thinking of others," said inn director Gail Mills told WTVD. "And is selling her lemonade to have the funds to buy the diapers and the wipes -- it just makes my day. Such a heartwarming experience to meet little Ava and to see how her mother is teaching her at such a young age to care for others and to share her blessing with people who are having a hard time."
